Show let's get the job done right After one delay following another, and work at Canyonlands Field finally completed, it comes as disheartening news that what may prove to be poor construction techniques on the part of the contractor of the project have resulted in another suspension of service by Frontier Airlines. Action by the County Commission this week to stop payment for work until such time as the job is done right, comes none too soon. There have been problems throughout the job at the field and action should have been taken long ago. Word from the Federal Aviation Administration that they also intend to "get to the bottom of the matter" is good to hear. If it takes a complete analysis of the surfacing techniques and materials, then let's get it done. Moab has been without service from commercial airline for over a year and unless the field is finished correctly, a good deal of the taxpayers' money will have been spent for nothing. We urge the FAA to stay on top of the matter and make sure that the job is done right this time, once and for all. |
