Show PROP WASH By Jim Hurst " Now that the summer rush has subsided, we once again have some time to give a brief report re-port on airport activity. Scott Boyd, one of our pilots, was given a leave of absence to return to college for his degree in Business Management. Scott will be back early in .June of '74. Our shop is busy with repairs to both "Eight Eight Yankee" a 185, and "Three Four Alpha" our 172 trainer. Both suffered suffer-ed damage this summer. We have a new pilot and licensed mechanic coming this week. His name is Walter Remcle, and he is coming to us from Alamogordo, New Mexico. With his help we hope to start soon on the certification of our DCe. Considerable mechanical me-chanical and lots of paper work will be necessary before "Eight GolfKo-mea" GolfKo-mea" will be flying. We were able to obtain the registration number of "8 G R" and the ship will be known as "Green River Eight." This is a bit of sentiment on our part as we wanted to remember re-member "Eight Eight Charley" the Charley Steen plane that helped set us up in business. The City has employed Art Maxwell of Nielson, Maxwell and Wangsgard as the engineer to develop de-velop the new airport site, three miles SW of town. At this time, Federal Fed-eral Aid to airport construction con-struction in Utah is 90.92 and the balance is divided between the sponsor and the State. Federal funds do not include building or utilities. |
