Show Wives, Ladies of Firemen Hosted at Dinner On Wednesday evening, Nov. 10, the members of the Moab Volunteer Fire Department Depart-ment hosted a dinner honoring the wives and ladies of the firemen. The ladies were given a tour of the firehouse while their husbands pointed out and demonstrated the equipment used by the department. Chips and dips were served before the meal while Gene Horton welcomed all of the guests and introduced Fire Chief Troy Black and Fire CommFssioners Bill Hines and Ralph Miller, Jr. Commissioner Commission-er Les Graves was unable to attend due to a prior commitment. commit-ment. After a delicious prime rib dinner, home movies and slides were shown of last year's banquet and the firemen's fire-men's river trip. Door prizes were then given to each lady present and a savings bond and several other gifts were given as prizes during a fun-filled hour of games. By the end of the evening, the ladies understood why their men were needed on Wednesday evenings and Sunday Sun-day afternoons to learn and practice the all important fire fighting procedures and techniques tech-niques used by the Moab Fire Department. The members of the Moab Volunteer Fire Department wish to extend a special "thank you" to the following merchants who so generously contributed all of the gifts given during the evening.
