Show Two More Accidents Near LaSol Caused by Cattle Two accidents involving cattle occurred in the La Sal Junction area over the weekend, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. On Nov. 12 at 6:15 p.m. one mile east of La Sal Junction, Hugh Olson, Denver, driving a 1970 Chevrolet, hit and killed a cow belonging to Hardy Redd, according to investigating Trooper Lynn Pierson. There was about $1500 damage to the vehicle, and the dead animal was valued at about $500. On Nov. 14 at 6:20 p.m. 1.5 miles north of La Sal Junction another cow was killed in an accident which involved two vehicles. William Gerhard, Villa Park, Calif., was southbound driving a 1976 Datsun when he hit a cow. Following him about a minute later was Kenneth Roche, Albuquerque, N.M., driving a 1971 Plymouth, who also ran into the animal. There was about $750 damage to the Datsun and about $500 damage to the Plymouth, and Roche reported slight injuries sustained, according to investigating investiga-ting Trooper Jim Pehrson. Highway Patrol records show there have been 7 cattle-involved accidents in the area of these since the first of the year. |
