Dean Fowles, the Delta MVP in football and basketball standout, held Moab scoreless for two innings. inn-ings. The Rabbits meanwhile chipped away at Marlyn Wyatts offerings for single runs in the first and third innings. However, Wyart got tougher and tougher and the Devil bats came alive. 1 Mark Roberts singled to open the third, stole second base and scored when Mike Zimmerman lashed a single. Frosh Brent Richeson, the Devils designated hitter, lashed lash-ed a double to center to score Zimmerman and came around to score himself on a passed ' ball. The big blow of the game, Moab's final home contest, came off the bat of catcher Mark Roberts. Roberts jumped jump-ed on one of Fowles offerings and belted it out of the park. The final run came on power hitting also. Mike Zimmerman doubled, was sacrificed over by Richeson and scored when Jeff Meador's smash to short went for an error. The Devils travel to Manti this Thursday, hoping to keep their record perfect for the showdown with Richfield, also undefeated. |
