President Pearl Baker called the meeting to order, and several matters were decided by the Board. The most important item was the extablishment of a Visitors' Center in the Peacock Rock Shop. Mrs. Peacock has offered to rent half the building and run the facility but the C of C is too small to finance a project of this kind. It was proposed to take the matter to the Castle Country Travel Council to see if funding could be expected from there. Castle Country Travel Council Coun-cil President A.C. Ekker spoke on the project, stating that he was much in favor of it, but there were doubts as to the legality of funding from that source. He was following up on this problem, and would contact the committee as soon as he could learn what the Council could legally do. Mrs. Baker appointed a committee of Vice President Tim Anderson, Mrs. Barbara Battey and Eugene Mantle to take the matter to the next meeting of the Castle Country Travel Council and see what could be done. A report on the Green River Bicentennial film stated that the first cut has been made, and will be available for viewing in a few days. However, special sound equipment equip-ment has to be used on this first copy, and a film useable with regular projectors will follow. It was believed that the June meeting of C of C might be able to view the film. Harold Anderson reported that special letters had gone out on clean-up to problem areas, and the general cleanup clean-up crews for Friday are all appointed and a schedule worked out.
