Show r M SEN BUNNELL Bunnell Seeks Reelection To Utah State Senate State Senator, Omar B. Bunnell, this week announced his candidacy for reelection to the Utah State Senate from District 27-Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan Counties. Coun-ties. Senator Bunnell, a Democrat Demo-crat is completing his twelth year in the Utah Senate. He is now Democratic Majority leader lead-er and he served his party as minority leader in 1970. He is also co-chairman of the Revenue Reve-nue and Taxation Research Committee and he has been Senate Chairman of the Public Eduction Appropriation Committee Com-mittee for the last five sessions of the legislature. The Utah Vocational Association Associ-ation presented him it's 1972 award for outstanding contributions contri-butions to vocation education and the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity at the University of Utah selected him as their Man of the Year 1974. The Senator has been a leader in developing and promoting an energy policy for the State of Utah. During the 1975 session he was the chief sponsor of SB 110 which created a State Municipal Water Loan fund (now four million dollars) from which local governments can secure interest free money in order to develop their culinary water systems. The Price River Water Improvement District, the Emery County cities of Huntington, Castle Dale, Or-angeville, Or-angeville, Ferron and Emery have already received payments pay-ments or commitments from this source. He was also the sponsor of the constitutional amendment and the enabling legislation which made possible the organization of Special Service Districts within the State of Utah. The creation of these districts can help provide for the orderly development of public services, especially in energy impacted areas. The expansion and improvements improve-ments of Utah Workmen's Compensation Laws has been a project which Senator Bunnell worked for many years, and if reelected he pledges to continue to move for improvement and refinement refine-ment of compensation for disabled workers.
