Show Hanksville News Notes Jake Bullard, eight year old son of Sharon 'Butch' and Margaret Bullard was baptized bap-tized Saturday by his uncle, Lt. Col. Le Roy Gibson, Hill Air Force Base, in Loa. Also attending the ceremony were grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Oral Bullard and Mrs. Rita Jepson of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ches-katy Ches-katy left for their home at La Mesa, California early Friday morning after visiting here with Julia's mother, Mrs. Edna Ekker Robison and other family members. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Robison and Erick Ekker who is an attorney visiting here from Holland. Erick is the son of Andries and Flora Ekker of Bethesda, Maryland. Andries is the counsellor of Press Affairs, Netherlands Mission, to the United Nations. Also visiting the Cheskaty's during their visit here was Glen Ekker of Bicknell, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ekker and daughters, Green River and Mrs. Gladys May and daughters, daugh-ters, Green River, along with Wes and Ruth Cheskaty and two sons of Grand Junction. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Hatch and daughters attended the wedding and reception in Green River of her sister, Coni on. the 15th and also a reception in St. George on the 16th. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Stevens Stev-ens and two children attended the wedding in Pleasant Grove of his sister Friday. Mrs. Nell Ekker taught his grades at the Elementary School. The young married of the MIA enjoyed an outing to Goblin Valley State Park Tuesday evening where they were guests of Ranger Dean and his wife. Those in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lierd, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Albrecht, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Albrecht. The National Park Service has advised Senator Frank Moss that it has added the Starr Ranch 45 miles South of Hanksville in Garfield County to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ranch was founded by Al Starr in 1890. It is now abandoned. Mrs. Rae Lene Ekker and new baby daughter, Ashley Rae, returned home from Richfield Saturday accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Sylvia Hill of Monroe who'll spend a week with her daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Johnson returned home to Hanksville this week after weeks in Salt Lake where both were hospitalized hospi-talized and Merintha underwent under-went major surgery. Mrs. Bertha Robison is visiting the Kevan Robison family in Orangeville and getting acquainted with her first grandson born April 28 at Price. Mrs. Ida Weber returned home from Idaho this week where she's been visiting her youngest daughter, Cheryle Avery and family. Her sisters, Mrs. Beryl Okerlund, Loa, and Mrs. Wynona Mulford, Tor-rey, Tor-rey, visited her Saturday and Debbie Mulford remained here and will reside with Mrs. Weber while employed at Jim and Ells Steak House for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Ekker are visiting in Payson this weekend wilh the Roy Ekker family. Eula Allen was rushed to the Moab hospital last week with gall bladder problems. She is home now but taking things easier. |
