Show Rotary District Governor Visits Moab Club Rotarians welcomed on October 8 the governor govern-or of this Rotary district, dis-trict, Mr. Lue Betti-lyon Betti-lyon of Sale Lake City. He addressed the Moab Mo-ab Rotary Club, one of 53 in his district, and conferred with Mr. William Wil-liam H. Nelson, President Presi-dent of the Rotary Club, and with other club officials of-ficials concerning the group's plans for service ser-vice activities and offered of-fered suggestions on administrative ad-ministrative matters. Mr. Bettilyon is one of 344 Rotary governors throughout the world who are serving as representative re-presentative of Rotary International in districts dis-tricts composed of member clubs. Each district governor is responsible re-sponsible for supervising super-vising the clubs in his area. Rotary, an international inter-national men's service organization has more than 740,000 members in some 15,709 clubs in i 50 countries. A member and past president of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City, Mr. Bettilyon is an industrial in-dustrial builder. He was elected to office at the Rotary Convention in Lausanne, Switzerland, in May, 1973, and will serve until June 30, 1974. A seasoned Ro-tarian Ro-tarian before his election elec-tion to the office of district dis-trict governor, Mr. Bettilyon attended an international in-ternational assembly last May in Lake Placid, New York at which all Rotary governors for 1973-74 attended in-depth in-depth seminars to prepare pre-pare for their jobs. One of his biggest jobs will be to hold a district conference of all Rotary Ro-tary clubs in this area. The conference will be held May 9, 10 and 11 at St. George, Utah. |
