I- '' J V - - - k 4 W Debra Pauley New home extension agent named in Moab Utah State University Cooperative Co-operative Extension Service is pleased to introduce Debra Pauley, as new Grand County Home Extension Agent. Debra received her formal education from California State University, Fresno in the field of Home Economics. She came to Utah for the first time in March of 1977 to work as a Park Assistant at both Canyonlands and Arches National Na-tional Parks. She has been living in Canyon Country ever since then and enjoys the unmatched scenic beauty that Southeastern Utah offers. The Cooperative Extension Service works with three different governments: Department De-partment of Agriculture, U-tah U-tah State government, and Grand County. Debra's responsibilities as Home Extension Agent are to coordinate the 4-H Youth program, implement an adult education program, and act as an information aide in all areas of Home Economics. Jim Stevens, county agent in Monticello visits Grand County Coun-ty each week to help farmers and ranchers with agriculture and range management questions ques-tions and problems. Debra and Jim also provide these same services in Green River. Debra's future plans for Grand County Extension are to: Initiate public awareness of Extension through free presentations pre-sentations and demonstrations demonstra-tions on various subject matter mat-ter for individuals as well as organizations in the community. commun-ity. Involve more youth in the 4-H program (We are planning plan-ning on providing clubs in the areas of agriculture, automotive automo-tive repair, electricity, livestock, live-stock, clothing, food and nutrition, nu-trition, arts and crafts, and many, many more.). Gain added growth in the Homemaker Club in Grand County. Help promote and plan a county fair, and horse and livestock shows. Offer free information services ser-vices to Food Stamp and Welfare Recipients. Develop a monthly newsletter newslet-ter for homemakers in the community. And last, but not least, communicate to the people of Grand County that Utah State University Cooperative Extension Ex-tension is here in the community commun-ity and very eager and willing to help you with any problems you may have.
