Show JV basketball team active this year By Curt Brewer The JV basketball team had their 11th and 12th games Friday and Saturday nights, Jan. 13 and 14, with the Devils taking one win out of two games. Friday night was a good game for the Devils with Moab upsetting Norwood 70 to 65. In the Erst quarter the score was 19 to 10, and at the half time Moab had a six -point lead over Norwood. High point men were Pat Cunningham Cunning-ham with 20 points, Billy Pruitt with 17 points, and Chad Donoghue with 14. Don-oghue Don-oghue was in the books again with 11 rebounds and Cunningham Cun-ningham with 10 rebounds. Moab had a total of 37 rebounds and Norwood had 42. Saturday night was probably probab-ly the best game of the year with South Sevier defeating Moab 67 to 66. Ken Nielson was high man for the JV team with 16 points and also most rebounds, 15. Pat Cunningham Cunning-ham had 13 points with 14 rebounds, and Moab had a total of 42 rebounds with South Sevier having 34. JV traveled to Emery the previous Saturday night to take on the Emery Spartans. Moab came out on the bottom with a score of 60 to 45. In the first quarter, the Devils fell behind with a 10 to 6 score. Moab tried very hard to get things together but just kept falling behind. In the second quarter Emery had an 8-point lead over Moab. Emery came out on top with a score of 60 to 45. High point man for Moab was Pat Cunningham with 20 points and 6 rebounds; following follow-ing Pat was Billy Pruitt with 10 points and 1 rebound. Chris Knowles and Richard Cannon scored 5 points each. |
