Show Mayor Bunce Proclaims Mar. 9-15 As Girl Scout Veek in Moab Mayor Winford Bunce has proclaimed March 9 through 15 as Girl Scout week in Moab. The proclamation cited Girl Scouting as a move- 1 ment that strongly supports the goal of the Report of the National Advisory Commission Com-mission on Civil Disorders. The Mayor quoted a proclamation proc-lamation by the Girl Scouts' National Board of Directors, saying they would urge all member councils to join with "other youth groups, other community organizations, and other individuals" in working through its program toward "a single society and a single American identity." Mayor Bunce called upon all citizens of Moab to cooperate co-operate with the Girl Scouts in their pursuit of this goal through their own program. Girl Scouts of U.S.A. was founded by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia, on March 12, 1912. From the original troop of 18 girls the organization has grown in membership to more than 3-34 million girls and adults |
