Show Frontier Officials Slate Visit to Discuss Problems Officials from Frontier Airlines have made tentative tenta-tive arrangements to meet, with the Moab Chamber cf Commerce and other local groups next Tuesday. The meetings are a result of the concern expressed last week by local citizens regarding air service as provided pro-vided by the company. Several Sev-eral protests were aired revealing re-vealing that flights to MoAo have been cancelled more frequently than is warranted warrant-ed by weather conditions. Mr. Vern Carlson, Fron-( tier's Vice President fnr Public Affairs, telephoned from the Denver office and discussed the situation with three local leaders this past week. Chamber of Commerce President Ralph Osborne stated that his understand ing of the conversation led him to think that it was flic Airline Pilots Association which is putting restrictions on tht runway at Canyon-lands Canyon-lands Airport. Carlson referred re-ferred to the rough surfae-j of the south 2000 feet of the runway as causing difficulty in pilots operating their braking systems, Osborne said. Osborne also said lie learned in the telephone conversation that the Airline Air-line Pilots Asociation last November recommended the closing of Canyonlands Airport. Air-port. Frontier officials also caller Mayor Bunco and editor ed-itor Sam Taylor regarding next work's visit to Moab. There will be one or two other Frontier officials accompanying ac-companying Mr. Carlson, including in-cluding Scott Keller, chief pilot. |
