Show Peace Officers Now Planning Moab Meet Members of the Utah Peace Officers Association were in Moab this past weekend to make plans with local officials of-ficials for their annual convention. con-vention. Moab is the place chosen for the 1909 UPOA convention conven-tion which is expected 1o draw some 350 peace officers offi-cers and their wives from throughout the state. The event will occur May 22, 23 and 24 with the visitors taking tak-ing advantage of local tour3 while here. Their banquet will be held at the American Ameri-can Legion Hall, Sheriff W. II. Bowman said. Officials in town this past weekend included Second Vice President Ray Haueter; Secretary D. L. Carroll; Sgt. at Arms Elmer I-eakc; and Pistol Committee Chairman Ron Rueckerl. The men inspected in-spected the shooting range-en range-en the Sand Flats Road, e ealing place and meeting halls. |
