Show Texas Family Hospitalized Here After Auto Accident A family from Corpus Christi, Texas suffered injuries in-juries and the total loss of their car when they hit a bridge abutment one mile west of Thompson about 2:25 p.m. Monday, March 10. The driver of the car, Mrs. Gertrude Contreras, said another an-other car forced her off the road. She and three of her sons, age 14, 9 and 1, were all riding in the front seat. They were thrown, through the windshield of the car when it flipped across the road, landing on the top. Two other passengers, asleep in the back of the 1956 Chevrolet station wagon, wa-gon, were not thrown fr4m the vehicle. They were enroute to Texas Tex-as from Ft. Lewis, Washing ton, where they had gone to meet Jesus Contreras, just released from the Army. He and his wife, Mary were returning re-turning to Texas with the rest of the family. They were taken to the Allen Memorial Hospital here in Moab by the Green Ambulance service. Gertrude Ger-trude Contreras and her son Jesus were treated and released. re-leased. The three younger children and Mary Contreras Contre-ras are still in the hospital. The young Mrs. Contreras is suffering from a broken collar col-lar bone, the throe boys are listed as being in satisfactory satisfac-tory condition. Sgt. Benson of the Highway Patrol, who investigated the accident said there would ba no citation issued. |
