Show H. IV. Austin New AARP President Here ' The recent meeting of the American Association of Retired Re-tired People (AARP) resulted in the election of a new president for the year. The officers as elected for the year will be President H. W. Austin. Vice-President Katherine Cooper, Secretary Jen Pope, Treasurer Genevieve Gene-vieve Hayes. Katherine Cooper Coop-er who would normally step up to take the office of president declined stating that as Vice-President Vice-President she could serve the I organization best. The luncheon meeting was held at the Ramada Inn with over 20 people in attendance and the subject of finding a meeting place the organization could call "HOME" was discussed. During the winter months the members feel that luncheons are best but in warmer weather they prefer evening meetings, making it very difficult for the various restaurants in town to give them preference over the tourists who are the largest source of income to Moab. The AARP meets the 4th Friday of every month and the next meeting will be held at 12 noon at the Sundowner on Friday February 17, 1976. |
