Show Many Eyeglasses Collected in Drive The Moab Lions Club collected a large box of old eye glasses during the club's recent New Eyes for the Needy project. These glasses, an annual project of Lions Clubs throughout the state, were turned in at the Utah Lions Mid-Winter Conference in Salt Lake City on Jan. 31. Citizens in this community contributed an incredible 497 pair, almost double the number num-ber collected by any other community in the state, according to Deputy District Governor Donald Kemner of Montezuma Creek. At a recent meeting the Lions presented certificates of appreciation, framed and suitable suit-able for display, to Miller's Super Market, Miller's Food-town, Food-town, City Market, Dr. B.A. Broughton and Burton's Square for their cooperation in making this project the tremendous tre-mendous success it was. The Lions also extend their thanks to the people of Moab who were considerate enough to' give their old eye glasses to this worthy cause rather than tossing them into trash containers. |
