Show Bid Opening Delayed by County Bid openings on the Mill Creek and Pack Creek bridges were postponed by the Grand County Commission Monday because of errors in the advertised proposal. The bid openings were rescheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 17, and copies of the correction are available at the County Clerk's Office. Also in connection con-nection with the Mill Creek bridge, Bill Meador appeared to discuss the possibility of constructing a foot bridge. No action on the matter was taken, however, designs will be drawn up for adding a foot bridge to the structure. Roger Sparks and Linda Dixon, representing the Utah Division of Family Services, discussed assistance programs to indigent transients. It was decided that help will be given families in need, but in the case of single people or married couples without children, child-ren, assistance will be given only if the transients work for it. Colleen Quigley and Maun Alsten, representing the Utah Division of Aging, met the Commission to encourage utilization util-ization of existing agencies, such as the Community Action Program, to do bookwork and accept money for senior citizens programs. The Commission Com-mission replied it would look further into this possiblity. In other business Fr. San-ford San-ford Hampton resigned from the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board, and it was decided this board could function at its present level of 12 members. |
