Show Life Senior Troop 190 Sunday gave a presentation of their trip to "Our Cabana" in Cuernavaca, Mexico, to parents, par-ents, relatives and friends of Scouting in St. Pius X Hall. On display were many of the souvenir items the girls purchased, postcards, personal person-al photos and a slide show and question and answer period were part of the program. Shirley Shelton, leader, presented to Helen Taylor and Dorrie Melich a "Cabana" Girl Scout pin. As Helen and Dorrie were there the first year the International Girl Guide Girl Scout Center opened, pins were not yet available and can be purchased and worn only by those who have attended sessions there and the troop felt it would be a nice souvenir for Dorrie and Helen. Parents of all the girls involved were presented with plants for all their help especially for the many cakes and pies made for dozens of bake sales. Thanks also goes to Mr. Carl Korrup who taught the girls Spanish, Jim Phillips who gave the girls their First Aid course, Hannah Pittman for all her help in getting all the immunization shots and cards ready, to the 5 doctors in town who gave the necessary physicals for the trip and last but not least to Ralph Miller, Jr. of Miller's Supermarket who loaned the girls his sno cone, popcorn and cotton candy machines for many sales as a means of raising money for their trip. Any club or organization wishing to have the girls share their trip with them may call Shirley Shelton at 259-6683 after 5 p.m. Neighborhood Chairman Robin Henningson last week wpnt with Tan Dlivptn FiplH Advisor of Price, to Monticello, Monticel-lo, Bluff, and Montezuma Creek and helped the troops with problems relating to Skills Day and registered approximately 85 girls in that, area. |
