Show WOMAN'S CLUB Woman's Club met at a regular meeting on Thursday, with Mrs. Edna Anderegg conducting. Roll Call was a New Year's Resolution. The program was under the direction of Mrs. Iona Ekker, and featured an out-of-state speaker, Ms. Geneva Markisich-Powell, who is the first licensed building contractor of Wyoming. Ms. Markisich-Powell Markisich-Powell told of her difficulties in winning acceptance by the building tradesmen and other people, even when she was often over-qualified for a position pos-ition she was seeking. However, Howev-er, she has worked hard, and finally a sort of grudging acceptance is accorded her in financing, building and marketing mar-keting fields. Her experiences covered a wide territory, and her stories of Puerto Rico were delightful, as were those of Michigan. Mrs. Barbara Childs hosted the group at her home, and was assisted by Mrs. Virginia Stephens and Mrs. Nancy MacKay. The next meeting will be the Valentine Tea, and the time or place was not decided on at the January meeting. Mrs. Pearl Baker will have charge of the program, prog-ram, and it will be on The Fine Arts. |
