Show State Offering Leases The State ot Utah, Department Depart-ment of Natural Resources, will hold a sealed-bid sale on mineral leases held in several counties on January 31 at the State Land Office, State Capitol. Capi-tol. Sealed bids on the acreage offered have to be into the State Land Office by January 28. Carlton Stowe, minerals specialist, Utah Geological & Mineral Survey, says that the Department is offering 62 parcels of land covering 40,790 acres for oil and gas leases. Parcels range from 40 acres to 2,313 acres and are within 9 counties. Metalliferous Metallifer-ous minerals leases are offered offer-ed on 5,730 acres, are located in 8 counties. The State also lists 147 parcels including 50,925 acres of coal leasing. Acreage is primarily in Grand and San Juan counties but includes areas in Carbon and Wayne counties. Several leasing leas-ing units are offered for Oil Shale, Limestone and Geothermal Geo-thermal leases. Geothermal leasing of 12,320 acres is offered in Box Elder, Sanpete, complete list with descriptions descrip-tions of acreage on the sale is available from the Division of State Lands. |
