'-"" ' I - :.t -i . ...: i N :v t : . , i i Sometime during the night Saturday or early Sunday morning someone entered Irish Auto Repair and opened the safe with a torch, removing ledger books. The safe was ruined and about $120 in cash was taken from a small cash box in the building. City Police report also that Irish's had an act of vandalism Jan. 5 in which all the head and taillights of vehicles in the parking lot were broken. Estimated damage was $85. Vandalism Investigated By Police During Week City Police report one stereo ster-eo was stolen from a vehicle and an attempt to steal another anoth-er was made, both on Jan. 16. Sometime during that night a stereo and two speakers, valued at about $150, were taken from a vehicle belonging belong-ing to Butch Lightfoot, while it was parked by his residence. resi-dence. Also that date someone tried to remove a stereo from a 1973 Chevrolet pickup belonging be-longing to Ed Holmes in Holiday Haven. However the attempt was not successful. On Jan. 8 there was an act of vandalism at the Prospector Prospec-tor Lodge. Someone came by along 2nd North and broke out several door lamps on rooms causing about $150 damage. On Jan. 14 during the early morning hours a battery valued val-ued at $55 was stolen from a vehicle belonging to Mil Pim-pell Pim-pell while it was parked at his residence at 167 N. 1st East. In addition, the car was ransacked but nothing else reported missing. Also Jan. 14 there was an act of vandalism in the high school parking lot. Tom Bass, Huntington, had parked his car and someone sprayed the rear windows with orange spray paint. There was an accident Jan. 6 at 8:19 a.m. at 1st East and 3rd South. Larry Cliff was driving an International Tra-velall Tra-velall and ran into the rear of a 1971 Toyota driven by William Holder. There was about $175 damage to the Cliff vehicle and $300 damage to the Holder vehicle. Cliff was cited for following too close. On Jan. 4 at 2:40 p.m. on Main Street, Frank Melo was driving a 1976 Ford pickup. He made a left turn and hit a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro driven driv-en by Todd Robertson. There was about $300 damage dam-age to the pickup and $250 damage to the Camaro, and Melo was cited for failure to yield right of way. On Jan. 5 at 5:12 p.m. at 1st West and 1st North, a 1962 Chrysler driven by Carrie Anderson, ran into the rear of a 1971 Volkswagen driven by Charlotte Patterson. There was about $300 damage to the Patterson vehicle, and no citations were issued. Also Jan. 5, at 1:55 p.m. in the Canyonlands Auto Parts parking lot, Rodney Harrison, driving a 1971 Ford, was waiting to pull onto Main St., when Lester Walker, driving a 1963 Ford, backed into his vehicle. There was about $20 damage dam-age to the Walker vehicle and $100 damage to the Harrison vehicle. No citations were issued as the accident was on private property. At the Friendship Inn parking park-ing lot Jan. 12 at 12:10 p.m. an unknown vehicle ran into a parked 1976 Ford belonging to Randy Pratt, causing about $150 damage. On Jan. 14 at 12:45 p.m. on Main and 1st North( Cathy Johnson, driving a 1977 Ford, ran into the rear of a 1976 Ford driven by Dennis Rob-son, Rob-son, while he was stopped to make a left turn. There was about $150 damage to the Robson vehicle, and Ms. Johnson was cited for no Utah operator's license. |
