High School Twenty Seniors received diplomas at Graduation ceremonies cere-monies at Green River High School on May 21st, culminating culmin-ating a week of commencement commence-ment activities. Baccalaureate was held on Sunday, May 18th, in the school gym with Lorrie Mau-ghan, Mau-ghan, class vice-president conducting. Bishop Edward Hansen of the Green River LDS Ward, as the guest speaker. Class Night and Awards Night was held on Monday evening. May 19th. Senior members presented their class skit, read their class history, and class will. Mrs. Clive Anderson was their Advisor. AVards nights activities acti-vities followed. Departmental awards were to Tammy Ekker, Music; Gala Dumas, Speech; Walter Maldonado, Drama; David Erickson, Social Science; Sci-ence; Debbie Parks, Publications, Publica-tions, Regi Weihing, Yearbook; Year-book; Shawn Acerson. Kathy Watterson, Laura Acerson and Gayna Dunham, Business; and David Erickson, Math. Drill Team awards went to Gala Dumas, Tammy Ekker, Kim Watterson and Rcgj Weihing for 4-ycar membership; Tammy Tam-my Ekker, Participation; and Kim Watterson, Congeniality. Gold G pins were awarded to Gala Dumas, Tammy Ekker. Kim Watterson, Regi Weihing and David Erickson, with David Reay earning a Silver G. The Betty Crocker Home-maker Home-maker Award went to Debbie Parks. The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship was presented to Kelly Ross, with the Woman's Club Scholarship going to David Erickson. Other Awards presented were: Freedom Free-dom Academy, Bart Hansen; Outstanding Citizenship, Regi Weihing and David Erickson; Perfect Attendance, Ray Shcr-fi Shcr-fi II : Coaches Award, Tracy Spadafora; Babe Ruth Award. Russell Odle; Glcdhill Award. David Erickson; Heritage 7b, David Erickson; and ESA Outstanding Youth Award. I Stacy King. Athletics Awards went to Kam Weihing, tennis; Tracy Spadafora, football; Timmy Vetere, basketball; Walter Maldonado, wrestling; and Phil Stubblefield track. Phil was also presented the Outstanding Athlete of the Year Trophy. Stacy King received recognition as the outstanding Girls Track Team member, and the girls team received the Region 10 Track trophy. New Student body officers were announced by Phillip Stubblefield as follows: B-team B-team cheerleaders, Linda Riches, Ri-ches, Kim Seager, Joni Bana-sky, Bana-sky, and Candee Vetere. A-team cheerleaders, Jan Nielson, Carene Seager, Marion Mar-ion Bastian and head cheerleader, cheer-leader, Ruth Ann Reay. Comm. of Public Safety is Perry Hansen; Comm. of Public Safety. Royd Hatt; Historian, Deborah Allen: Secretary, Jean Wilcox; Vice-President, Vice-President, Brad Burr, and President, Bart Hansen. Miss Peggy Baxter, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Baxter, was named as Valedictorian Vale-dictorian for the class of 1975. with Mrs. Doris ConklinWinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luke Conklin, as Salutatorian. Commencement exercises began at 8 p.m. Wednesday. May 21. in the High School gym. Processional music was played by Mrs. lona Ekker. The invocation was offered by Bishop Edward Hansen. Tammy Tam-my Ekker, Senior Class President, Presi-dent, gave a short welcome, followed by addresses by Peggy Baxter. Valedictorian, and Doris Winn. Salutatorian. The Senior Girls Sang "When Will 1 See You Again" accompanied by Mrs. Judy Evans. The guest speaker was Miss Lvnda Peterson, former Math teacher at GRHS who was injured in a car accident last summer. Lynda spoke from her w heelchair and gave a most moving and inspirational inspiration-al address. Principal Burr intro duced the graduates and Mr. James Banasky.
