Show Ila Corbin Presented Award by Literary Club Four clubs of the Eastern District, U.P.W.C. won No. 1 ratings at the state convention in Kanab. The Woman's Literary won for the largest increase in membership and their continuing continu-ing participation in CARE. ; Grccnriver won the art prize for Mrs. Shirley Waszek's ' sculpture; the Helper Woman's Club won for w ork in international affairs; and the Price Sorosis won for scholarship scholar-ship and student aid. Mrs. J. W. Corbin of Moab was presented a bronze "liberty bell" pin for her outstanding work in gaining new members. She brought in nine new members to the Moub club. Mrs. Lee J. Diomonti, Helper, emceed a fashion show, entitled "Fashions of Yesteryear". The Clubwomen of the Year Award for the entire state went to Mrs. Jay Holmgren of Tremonton; Mrs. Oslor Sowards, treasurer of the General Federation, was keynote speaker of the convention. conven-tion. Word from Moab's new president, Elma Lee Elderkin, is that she and her newly appointed chairman of Alcohol and Drug Abuse will attend a seminar June 3-4 at Snowbird. This is the main project of Mrs. Elmer Klitgard and the state federation. Mrs. Elderkin has appointed immediate past president. Ann Pool, to fill the post which comes under the Public Affairs department. |
