Ken Erbes, left, and his partner, Bill Hines. announced recently the closing of their 13 year joint venture, and are presently liquidating stock. Valley Home & Auto Now In Liquidation Process After a thirteen year successful suc-cessful partnership, the owners own-ers of Valley Home and Auto have announced they are going out of business. Bill Hines and Ken Erbes began their business as joint-operators of Valley Firestone Fire-stone in June of 1962 after buying inventory already being be-ing sold by Harry Narans in the same location they are now at. The first five years they operated as Valley Firestone before changing the name to Valley Home and Auto in 1967. Both men have lived in Moab for a considerable number years and have been active in many community affairs. Mr. Erbes is the former owner-manager of the former Tastee Freeze. He is presently planning to continue serving his loyal customers of many years by opening a Goodyear Tire shop in the Husky service station on north main. Verl Wyatt, present manager of Valley Home's auto repair shop, will also manage this shop which will continue to handle Goodyear tires and other merchandise, auto repair, re-pair, inspection stickers, etc. Mr. Hines is planning to retire with a fishing pole in one hand and five kids on the other. He was affiliated with Tow n TV for a number of years before going into business with Mr. Erbes. Both men would like to thank their loyal customers for their support which they have sincerely appreciated and express ex-press their disappointment in being unable to continue serving the people of Moab in the capacity that they have in the past. |
