Show Truck Accident Looses Carle On Freeway Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Troop-er Phil Harney investigated an accident on 1-70 May 21 which resulted in In loose cattle on the freeway. At 10:45 p.m. 1 mile south of Thompson, a semi-truck and trailer driven by Leonard I.cKoy Trimmer, Grand .1 unction unc-tion was westbound when another vehicle pulled into the roadway in front of him, forcing him to swurvc lo the. left. His rig went off t he roadway and over a steep embankment, coming lo rest in t ho median, nnil the trailer overturned. Of the load of callle, IH ran loose, and 9 were eilher killed outright or had lo be killed later. There was $27, (XH) damage to the truck and trailer. On May 22 at 7:30 p.m. on the river road, U l.'H, Hubert Matthew Osborne, Haggs, Wyo., was driving n ')73 Chevrolet pickup west, and fell asleep ill the wheel; his truck ran oil the left side of the road, over a gully and a small knoll, coming to rest in some rocks. A passenger, Brian Osborne. 5, was injured and was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital by private vehicle for treatment. Trooper Harney ciled Osborne for driving on the wrong side of the road. |
