Show JOSEPH L. ALLEN Olf friends were saddened sad-dened to hear of the death of Joe Allen March 26 in a Gunnison hospital of natural na-tural causes. He was born April 24, 1900 in Torrey, Wayne County to David Albert and Mary Elizabeth Eliza-beth Laramie Allen. He married Elsie Emma Beh-ling Beh-ling July 12, 1922 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died in 1968. The Aliens moved -to Green River many years ago, where they were both active in church activities and civic affairs. He was one of the best farmers in the valley, and his melons were famous. Joe served in MIA and Sunday School presidencies in both the ward and stake levels, and filled a Temple mission at the Manti Temple. He was gardener and custodian custod-ian for the Manti Temple for several years. Survivors include two sons, Glen J. of Manti and Lewis of Green River, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, a brother, Stanley of Manti and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Behling of Ferron. Services were Wednesday Wednes-day in Manti, and burial was in the Manti City Cemetery. |
