Grants for Graduate Courses Won by Three Moab Teachers Three Grand County Junior Jun-ior High School teachers have received grants for graduate courses in their (fields. Mr. Ron Ferguson, English teacher; Mr. Darwin Dar-win Gilger, teaching drama, English and math; and Mr. Lynn Nelson, a science teacher tea-cher received the grants. Mr. Ferguson's grant is for six weeks of graduate studies stud-ies in English, at Texas A & M. He will leave for College Col-lege Station, Texas as soon as school is out. He will return re-turn in August to resume teaching here. Mr. Gilger's grant, which is from Utah State University, Univer-sity, is to study math this summer. The grant was given giv-en under the National Defense De-fense Education Act and includes in-cludes tuition and expenses. He will also return next year to the Junior High. Mr. Nelson also received a grant to study science for the summer. His grant was awarded by the National Science Foundation. He will study at the University of Illinois. |
