Show H. O. Herron Killed in Pickup Wreck A one car accident claimed the life of long time Moab resident Herbert Oliver Herron Her-ron April 30. He was driving south on Highway 160 in a 1963 pickup about 8:30 p.m., when it ran off the road about ab-out one-half mile north of the Arches turnoff, hit a guard rail, flew 42 feet through the air before hitting hit-ting the ground, rolling over twice. Mr. Herron was thrown from the vehicle. He died as a result of severe head injuries. The victim had been a carpenter in the Moab area for the past 20 years. He was born July 10, 1927 at Akron, Colorado to George E. and Nora Ann Schales Herron, both of whom make their home at Imboden, Arkansas. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include one daughter, dau-ghter, Jannette, of Green River; Ri-ver; three step-daughters, Mrs. Alta Sue Strader cf Moab, Mrs. Alice Jean Scott and Mrs. Mary Del Armstrong, Arm-strong, both of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Three brothers survive, sur-vive, George L. Herron of Farmington, N.M.; Floyd, of Black Rock, Ark.; and David, of West Memphis, Ark.; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Loa Karpa, who is living in Costa Cos-ta Rica, Central America. Services were held in the Chapel at Turner Funeral Home, Saturday, May 3. The body was then sent to Imboden, Im-boden, Ark., for services and burial. |
