Show Dead Horse Campground Gains Federal Funding The Department of the Interior In-terior this week awarded the State of Utah $154,998. in grants for outdoor recreation recre-ation developments under the Land and Water Conservation Conser-vation Fund Act, Sen. Wallace Wal-lace F. Bennett, R-Utah, announced. an-nounced. The State will .receive $65,-953 $65,-953 from the' Bureau of Outdoor Out-door Recreation for the development de-velopment of Kayenta Camp Grounds at Dead Horse Point State Park, near Moab. The development will include the oil surfacing of access and loop roads, picnic tables parking spurs, two 2-unit restrooms, water and light utility lines and fire pits and grills. The Federal funds are to be matched by the State of Utah. , Salt Lake County will receive re-ceive $52,015 from the Bureau Bu-reau for the development of a community park in South Salt Lake City. Improvements Improve-ments to the 17-acre park will encompass land grad- ing, installation of a sprinkling sprink-ling system; curbs, sidewalks, side-walks, parking lots, underground under-ground electric system, pic nic pavillion, restrooms and the purchasing of play equipment. equip-ment. Landscaping will also be done. The Salt Lake County Recreation and Parks Department will match Federal Fed-eral Funds. Davir County will receive a $37,030 grant for the development de-velopment of the Davis County Memorial Park, a regional park located in the middle of Davis County west of State Highway 89 and along al-ong the Wasatch Front. The development includes the installation in-stallation of a sprinkling system, fencing, underground power lines, picnic bowery, one 2-unit restroom, water and sewer lines, horseshoe pits, volley ball and badminton bad-minton courts, a 'tot lot', play equipment, and an oil-surfaced oil-surfaced parking lot.
