Climes The matter of changing boundaries of school precincts to meet requirements cf new Utah laws was discussed by Grand County Board of Education at its regular meeting Monday evening. According to the new law, precinct boundaries must be fixed to include at least 2D per cent of the population in each precinct. Actual fixing of the boundaries is done Dy the County Commissioners to whom the School Board will make recommendations. The new boundary must D3 in effect by June 15. After considerable discussion, discus-sion, the Board felt addition- al study should be made before be-fore a recommendation was made to the Commissioners. A population census taken by the school district in October Oc-tober shows that Precinct No.. 1, represented by Lester Rogers, has a population of 242; Precinct No. 2, represented repre-sented by Marjorie Tomsie, 1,341; Precinct No. 3, represented rep-resented by Robert Dalton, 1,763; Precinct No. 4, represented repre-sented by Earl Blank, 1,501; and Precinct No. 5, represented repre-sented by J. G. Pinkerton, 1,506. Board members authorized the re-employment of C. Robert Ro-bert Sundwall as Superintendent Superinten-dent of Schools for the next two years and Bll Meador as Assistant Superintendent. Other administrators re-employed for the coming year were Leland Teeples as Principal Prin-cipal of the Senior High; Theron Johnson, Principal of Junior High; John W. Olear-ain, Olear-ain, Principal at Helen M. Knight Elementary; and Du-ane Du-ane S. Wimmer, Principal at Southeast Elementary. Other action by the Board included an approval of guides for student dress for Jun;or and Senior High students; stu-dents; approval to purchase a new district car; authorization authori-zation that the services of Ed Claus as auditor be continued; con-tinued; installation of a sprinkling system at Helen M. Knight Elementary. The Board also set the date of June 9 for tentative budget bud-get approval with the final public hearing and budget meeting set for June 26. |
