Camping has always been an important experience for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides the world over. It is one cf the most effective means of achieving the purpose of Girl Scouting "inspiring girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct patriotism, patriot-ism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful re-sourceful citizens." For the girl, camping . means fun and adventure in the out-of-doors; learning new skills; making friends while sharing work, play and songs; the magic of living close to nature; and the opportunity op-portunity to be "on her own" with the security of mature guidance nearby. For parents and the com- munity, Girl Scout camping moans all this plus high, standards of health, safety and supervision. All camps maintain the standards r,f the Girl Scouts of the USA concerning sites, administration, administra-tion, health and safety, programs pro-grams and personnel.
