Show Hearing Details footed by Senator Moss The U. S. Senate hearing on whether or not to make Arche National Monument a national park, will be held at 9 a.m. on May 17, Sen. Frank E. Moss told The Times-Independent Wednesday. Wednes-day. The hearing will be conducted con-ducted by subcommittee chairman, Sen.. Alan Bible of Nevada, and Sen. Moss, the sponsor of the measure under un-der discussion, will also be in attendance. The hearing is scheduled to be held in the Grand county Courtroom. Persons wishing to testify need only appear at 9 a.m. on May 17, Sen. Moss said, although those wishing to present official testimony to be inserted in the committee record, should prepare it in written form, and furnish the committee with 20 copies. Sen. Moss announced last week that he would offer a number of amendments to his bill, which would have the net effect of reducing th? park size by some 8,000 acres. ac-res. Moss proposed to eliminate elim-inate from the park, Dry Mesa, and add some small . sections north of the present pres-ent Devil's Garden section. The hearing May 17 will continue throughout the forenoon fore-noon until all wishing to testify tes-tify have been given a opportunity op-portunity to speak. |
