Show A Letter from Pearl, lona and Barbara... BOATING The boating season is roaring roar-ing along, even if the water is a bit low. Enough water is coming down the Green to make the Desolation and Cataract Cat-aract trips excjting. but seems the Colorado is pretty low. Martin Litton put two trips of his Grand Canyon Dories on Desolation last week, and made the last trip himself. Gay Staveley's Canyoneers also boated Desolation. Stave- ley is one of the first river runners with his outfit going back to Norman Nevills, who is rated among the first two or three to do much white water work. Monday the Pacific Adventure Adven-ture Company out of Riverside, River-side, California, put seven people and 4 canoes on to make a trip to the confluence. They will be picked up in about a week by Tag-a-Long Tours of Moab and brought back to Green River, since the Colorado is so low. Heading the expedition were Butch Caber and Richard Joyce. VISITS HOME Mrs. Myrtle Bedier is home for a few days attending to some business and home affairs. af-fairs. Her daughter, Mrs. Lucille Heath, is here and will take her mother back to Salt Lake City where Mrs. Bedier finds it easier to get around in her own home. ENTERTAINS SENIOR CITIZENS A group of little girls dressed in luscious pink enter-, tained the Senior Citizens' dinner group with a dance they had learned at La Rae Majors' dancing classes. A-mong A-mong those dancing the Peasant Pea-sant Polka were Stacy Wright, Shawnda Hansen, Anissa King, Cindy Dennis, Janiece Bastian, and Sherry Keele. 4-H CLASS STARTED Mrs. Carol Dennis is the leader of a new 4H group of girls in Beginners Sewing. She promises a full report from her Club Reporters for next week. JULY 4TH PLANS The Primary Association is leading out again this year in starting the July 4th off with a bang. They will sponsor the 1 breakfast, supported by var-; var-; ious clubs of the town, j Festivities will begin with the flag raising at 8:30 then J the breakfast under the man- agement of Kay Jewkes. GIRLS T BALL I Girls T Ball got under t way with the annual Daddy-4 Daddy-4 Daughter game. The Dad's 3 were hobbled and able to play ( 1 ? 1 zv : - I 4. --. -r- The Blazer Scouts had their early bird breakfast Thursday a.m. with their mothers at the O. K Anderson City Park. The boys prepared breakfast on grills and Coleman stoves. The menu consisted of hot chocolate, cherry sprite, sausage, French toast, and scrambled eggs. The mothers had a hard time letting the boys do the cooking but everyone was well fed. Leaders for the Blazer Scouts are Bruce and Dorothy Nelson. using only the left hand-catch, hand-catch, bat, and throw. Needless Need-less to say, the girls won-but not by much-Teddy Bears vs. Papa Bears 12-8, Luv Bugs vs. Daddy Bugs- 15-2; Raggedy Anns vs. Raggedy Andys-16-8. Many jokes were played and everyone had a good laugh and fun was had by all. Mothers get their turn July 4th so the dads can have their laughs. BALL CLUB ORGANIZED The Green River T Bail League was organized with Dorothy Nelson president; Lorn a Bastian vice president and Gladys May secretary. Three teams were organized-Raggedy organized-Raggedy Anns coached by Arlene Weihing assisted by Serena Shorts; Luv Bugs coached by Sandi Weber as- ' sisted by Conra Thornton; and the Teddy Bears coached by Sharyn Hughes assisted by Pat Quamberg. The Road Runners were dishanded this year because not enough girls showed up for a team. SIX SNAPPY STITCHERS By Kim Anderson, Reporter The six snappy stitchers 4 II Club was organized June 6th 1977, the members are: Kim Anderson, Kristin Quarnberg, Edie Hansen, Claudia Acerson, Jana Weihing, Weih-ing, and Cindy Rowley. Our leaders are:Mrs. Quarnberg and Mrs. Anderson. We elected elec-ted officers and they are: Kim Anderson reporter, Kristin Quarnberg vice president, and Edie Hansen is president. We chose sewing 1, this year we will be sewing 3 items. |
