Show Little Buckaroo Rodeo set for June 6-7 The Little Buckaroo Rodeo will be held next week, on Wednesday and Thursday, July 6-7 at 8 p.m. at the arena. The event promises to equal or surpass the show of previous years, with children ages 7 to 14 participating in bareback riding, calf riding and calf roping. Each night there will be a pony chase for kids 6 years and under. On Wednesday night there will be two special events, including a chariot race between be-tween Marv Sims and Merv Lawton and a performance by a local trick rider, who will also perform Thursday night. Both nights there will be special events for people who have their own horses, or who can borrow horses, also limited lim-ited to ages 7-14. These will include cloverleaf barrels, long barrels, poles, open end barrel, etc. Signup for entries is June 29 through July 3 at the home of Mrs. Ted McDou-gall. McDou-gall. Tickets are now on sal from members of the livestocl club at $2 for adults and $1 foi students, with under-school age children admitted free There will be a gate prize of i bundle of beef from Miller's Supermarket. Some of the girls will be trying for Queen and the number of tickets they sell will affect their standing. Stock contractor will be Bernice Hunsaker, of Tre monton, Utah, who has provi ded fine Little Buckaroo Rodeo Ro-deo stock here for many years. This event is the only fund-raising event of the 4-H Livestock group, and profit goes to pay for trips, instruction, instruc-tion, uniforms, trophies, equipment, etc. Riding Club is held Tuesdays, Tues-days, Thursdays, and Saturdays Satur-days at 6 p.m. Ethel Rrist is helping us with our horses and our horsemanship. We are working toward state 4-H meets in judging and horsemanship, a regional 4-H horse show. District Meet and quarter shows. |
