Show Area residents named to state positions The Utah Senate, during the current cur-rent special session of the Utah Legislature, Legisla-ture, is considering Gov. Scott Mathe-son's Mathe-son's proposed appointments to various state positions, and a number of area people are either included for appointment appoint-ment or are being replaced. On the College of Eastern Utah Institutional Council, 0. W. Phelps, Helper, has been named to replace Les Graves, Moab, and Bruce L. Shumway, Blanding, has been named to replace Harold Lyman. Paul S. Rattle, Moab, has been named to replace C. Alfred Frost, Monti-cello, Monti-cello, on the State Land Board; and John Bell, Orange'ville, was chosen to replace Moab's RobertNorman on the Board of Oil, Gas and Mining. Chris Jouflas, Helper, is the governor's gover-nor's choice for aseat on the Board of Wildlife Resources, to replace Paul Stringham. Ruby Bronson, Blanding, is named for a slot on the Board of Expositions. Exposi-tions. Blanding dentist Larrell C. Van Dyk is proposed for a seat on the Board of Health; and Karl A. Peterson;' Price, is named for a seat on the Board of Aging. On the Board of Mental Health, the governor has named Victor C. Schafer, Monticello. Carbon County Commissioner Lee Semken, Price, is named for a seat on the Health Systems Agency Governing Board to replace Moab's D. L. Taylor. Grand County Commissioner Harvey Merrell is the governor's choice for a seat on the Seismic Safety Council, as is Donald Peck, Helper. Harold Lyman, Blanding, is listed for a seat on the Board of Indian Affairs. |
