Show Job Service Center Assigns Man to Veterans Affairs In the Moab Job Service Center (formerly the Moab Employment Security office) veterans are legally entitled to priority in all services, with preferential treatment for disabled dis-abled veterans over other veterans. In order to assure that this takes place, a staff member in the center has been especially designated as the Veterans Employment Representative (VER). Jerry Davis is the VER in the Moab Job Service Center. Jerry extends a special invitation to all veterans living in the area served by the Moab Job Service Center who may need assistance or veterans services of any kind to contact him. While Jerry's basic responsibility responsi-bility is to assure that veterans receive the necessary job related assistance they need including labor market information, infor-mation, employment counseling, counsel-ing, testing, referral services and unemployment benefits ' for jobless veterans who may ' be entitled to receive them, he 1 also provides a veterans information service. By main- ! taining appropriate publica- ' tions on hand and ready ' references concerning assist- 1 ance and services available to : veterans, Jerry can provide vital help to Moab area 1 veterans. ' The Moab Job Service Center ' placed 48 of the veterans on jobs who registered for em- ( ployment during the year " ending June 30, 1975 and the Center gave employment counseling to 70 Moab area veterans who needed help in resolving individual employment employ-ment problems. The Job Service VER carries out special efforts throughout the year with employers in the area to promote the employment employ-ment of Moab area veterans.
