Show City Council Meets; Makes New Appointments The Moab City Council held its first meeting of 1976 with new members Dixie Barker and Marj Tomsic taking their official seats. Permission was given to the Moab Interact Club to paint the Main St. fire hydrants in a Bicentenial theme. It was agreed that the City will furnish paint to restore them at the close of 1976. The Cecil Thomson property on 5th West was rezoned to R-2 to provide for the development of a subdivision. Board appointments were made as follows: Les Erbes was appointed to a 5-year term on the Board of Adjustments; Ken Erbes and Jim Wiseman were appointed to the City Planning Commission, and Don Knowles was reappointed to the same. Dixie Barker was appointed City representative to the 5-person Chamber administrative administra-tive board, and Marj Tomsic was appointed to the Grand County Housing Authority. The Council also voted to ask the Department of Transportation Trans-portation to install a larger 30 mph speed limit sign on the south City boundary on US 163. |
