Show poet's CORNERxS 1 1 ; EDITED BY JmU J Ch NIK HOUGEN yj 11' HAPPINESS IS A ROCK HUNTING TRIP The coffee's all ready, the lunches are packed Got plenty o' water and plenty o' sacks, We jump in the trucks and head for the hills Ah, only a rockhound could know such thrills! Over the hill and down the wash Just look at all that beauty by gosh! I pick with my hammer and kick with my toe I got 'er loose, now where did it go? It's under that bush where a lizard peeks And it's the purtiest rock I've found in weeks; Now I've done it again with my nose to the ground, I wasn't really lost, just had to be found. So Leona leads the way right back to the camp, Got tonsils that's parched and a brow that's sure damp; We rest in the shade and look at our treasures, And thank the good Lord for this greatest of pleasures. Here comes Gene and Frank with their gems and their thirst, : Such a happy time, I think I f might burst! J A pot-o-gold couldn't make my !J heart flip 'fc. Like it does when I'm out with my hubby and my friends on a rock hunting trip! Shirley L. Campbell We part now to go but to go where? f to now... a I have no patience for the future-to sleep the future's to be qj are like yesterdays And as we journey we n'1-all n'1-all shall see that tal the future never comes, for Co yesterday is like tomorrow an illusion. Reality is now life is now--no future-no future-no past. If we journey on a path, we never reach our home you can never go back. We can never go to be the same-for that is gone-we can only be here now. Bruce Goodman |
