Show Political Signs Regulated by Highway Law The Utah State Department Depart-ment of Highways reminds all candidates for office and all political party workers of the Utah Law governing outdoor advertising. This law prohibits signs along Federal-aid Intersate or Primary Pri-mary Highways unless certain cer-tain requirements are met. The statutory definition of a sign is: "Any outdoor structure, light device, fig -urc, painting, drawing, message, mes-sage, plaque, poster, billboard bill-board or thing which is designed; de-signed; intended or used to advertise or inform." Landowners, candidates and political workers are subject lo prosecution for signs illegally il-legally placed. If there are any questions regarding sign regulations, persons are asked to contact Robert Holden, District Four Outdoor Advertising Permits Officer at 637-1100 in Price. |
