Show Girls State Plans Laid By Auxiliary American Legion Post 54 Auxiliary met March 2 at the FirsfWestern Bank. After much checking, it was confirmed that two clubs are not chartered and the Moab Auxiliary can send representatives representa-tives in their place to Girls State, scheduled June 6 to 12. This means a total of four girls will W oiftg to Girls State from Moab. The sponsors at the current time are Ladies of the Elks-' and the Times-Independent. Times-Independent. The group extended their on her Betty Crocker Award and to Susan Schafer on her to Susan Schafer on her Americanism speeches. Both are previous Girl Staters. Work has begun on the towel bibs for the VA hospital patients in Grand Junction. Mary Pogue reported on the mystery project and also on the dedication of the Ida Mae Decker Solarium. Ladies interested inter-ested in working on the scrpbook and the mystery project, please call Mary Pogue. Both items need to be finished by April 1. Plans were made to partici-Date partici-Date in the honorine of Bertha Murphy on her 101st birthday, March 4. Mrs. Murphy is a Gold Star Mother. Spring Convention of District Dis-trict 5 for the Legion and Auxiliary will be held April 3 at the Price Legion Home, 27 North 1st West. Registration time is 11:00. Social hour is from. 11:30 to 12:30. The luncheon and program will be combined with meetings to follow. Next meeting of the Post 54 Auxiliary will be March 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the First Western Bank. |
