Show Snowpack Below Normal The March 1 snow surveys were completed by the Soil Conservation Service showing the LaSal Mountain snowpack remaining below normal. Both snow courses on the LaSals are 84 percent of normal. The lower course had 6 in. of moisture, with 7 in. being a normal level. The upper course had 9.5 in. of moisture compared with 11.7 in. normal. In addition an accumulation of 4.1 in. of moisture was recorded in the rain gauge since Jan. 5, 1976, on the La Sals. In comparison the Blue Mountains have received an above-normal amount of moisture mois-ture this winter, with Buck-board Buck-board Flat 155 percent of normal and Camp Jackson 132 percent of normal. Rain gauges on. the Blue Mountains recorded an average catch of s.3 in. of water since Dec' 30. |
