Show Jeep Sciforl Re-Scheduled By Popular Demand By popular demand, the Moab Chamber of Com- 1 merce voted this week to sponsor another Jeep Sa-ari, Sa-ari, ever the Labor Day weekend next fall. The success of the first Safari has been overwhelming. overwhelm-ing. Enthusiastic comments are still being received from the almost GOO persons who made the tour into the Standing Rock Country. Typical is the letter from Paul S. Rattle, Jr. of Salt City: "Just a week ago, my family and two other family fam-ily groups were having a wonderful time in your "back yard." Mr. Rattle wrote to cast his vote in favor of another Safari, and suggested alternate tours to solve the problem which must ultimately be faced, "overcrowding." lie also suggested mapping various jeep tours so small groups might enjoy the country throughout the long season. Representative and Mrs. Harold J. Whiting, of Springville, veteran Moab tourists, commented, "We were overwhelmed at the response to the Safari." Moab Mo-ab is a "scenic wonderland everyone should see," they added. "Wo have been telling our friends about your hospitality, hospital-ity, so you can look for many more from Glcnwood Springs next year," wrote Walt Thral, a Glenwood insurance in-surance agent. "We heard you are planning plan-ning another one next year, and will plan to attend," promised Mrs. Raymond Wharton, of Farniington, N. Mexico. Mrs. Alvin E. Jacobson, of Price, and her family didn't attend, but requested information on future safaris. sa-faris. "We are new in the area and want to enjoy and understand this beautiful country," she wrote. The event was hosted by Mrs. McCormick, and their daughter, dau-ghter, Mrs. Pat Rockwell. Guests lingered for a social get-together following the dinner. |
