Show City-County Planning I Continues With Review I iMemhers of I ho Grand ; County and Moab City Planning Plan-ning Boards mot with the Commission Monday to discuss dis-cuss completion of a comprehensive com-prehensive Master Plan for the city and county. A proposal entered by Owen Burnham, representing represent-ing Planning and Research i Associates, of Salt Lake I City, was reviewed. Some ; objections were raised con-: con-: corning the cost, especially ; the "Research and Review" and the Topographic Model. The cost of reproduction, $3,100, was also considered excessive. A lelter will be i forwarded to the firm stating stat-ing suggested acceptable modifications. Board mem-' mem-' bers present included Char-; Char-; les Brechtel, County; David Allen, City; and Mayor Win-ford Win-ford Bunce. I Mr. Brechtel inquired as to procedure for property 1 owners to apply for neces-i neces-i sary road repairs. He was ! told the requests are kept ; on a priority basis and accomplished ac-complished when road equipment eq-uipment is available. Ed Provonsha met with the Commission concerning a curfew ordinance. County ; Attorney Snow stated it would be a legal move, but difficult to enforce county-; county-; wise. ; 1 ; Also discussed was a pos sible ordinance to force '. property owners to clean up their lots or be charged for ; clenaup costs. The Commis sion will consider this pro- H pos-al before reaching a de- jj cision. i The Arches Shrine Club I were granted a beer license g during the Friendship 1 Cruise days, May 28 and 29. County Surveyor John Kcogh met with the Com- mission to discuss construe- lion costs of a tie-down area 210 ft. by 470 ft. at Canyon lands Airport. He estimated I the cost at $13,490. Another airport engineer will check S the plans to see if they con- 9 form to the requirements of airport soil. g The Commission, authoriz- jj ed transfer of $1,000 to the Grand County Rodeo Fund t at the Moab National Bank. By authority of the Com- jj mission, minutes of the March 6 meeting authoriza- I ing Commissioner Mars Pope to attend the Chamber of Commerce meeting with meals paid were recinded. Floyce Wells and Cliff Sackerson met with the Commission to discuss a new communications system for Civil Defense. Sackersoft suggested the Grand County Sheriff's Department apply j for a construction ' permit j for building a radio trans- t mitter on Bald Mesa, to re- j place the one on Abajo Peak jj Monticello. The request will I be considered . The Commission rejected j Mrs. Wells' request to at- j tend a CD meet in Salt Lake i Citv next weekend. |
