Show St. Clare's Guild Holds Meeting, Hears Program "A Journey to the Holy Land'' was the program presented pre-sented at the regular monthly mon-thly meeting of St. Clare's Guild on the evening of March 28 at St. Francis' Church. It was given by Mrs. G. P. Decker, who show ed her slides of and narrated nar-rated her trip to Athens, Greece and The Holy Land. It was a beautiful program and very much appreciated by all. Refreshments were served by hostesses Mrs. Cliff Sack erson and Mrs. Ray Tibbetts The busines meeting was presided over by President Mrs. Roy Hollis. After the regular reports from Mrs. Charles Brechtel, secretary, and Mrs. Gale Tibbetts, Treasurer, the discussion centered on the Annual .Sprijng Rummage Sale to be held April 28 and 29 at the Old Museum Building across from the Court House on Center Street. Mrs. Hollis will chairman the event, all will assist. Mrs. Ted Murdoch, Mur-doch, 3-4286 will be telephone tele-phone chairman, in charge of pick-ups, deliveries, and information. Mrs. Harold Bowen, Jr. will be in change of all rummage items left on the porch of the Old Museum Mus-eum Building prior to the sale. Anyone who has i jm-mage jm-mage is urged to drop it there for collection any day from now on. Mrs. .l-'red Stoye will handle the publicity. pub-licity. Mrs. Ann Poole has offered the services of the Town House Cleaners for cleaning necessary. Guild is grateful for this assistance. assist-ance. Rummage of all sorts is sought if in usable con- dition clothes, lamps, pictures, pic-tures, "white elephants", jewelry, household items, toys, books, kitchen utensils etc. We urge everyone to do her house cleaning now: we're ready. Other projects in the offing off-ing are a 'banquet to be prepared pre-pared and served for the Eastern Star Grand Visitation Visita-tion on May 6th at the Norman Nor-man Boyd home, Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Engstrom will be chairman, chair-man, Mrs. Hal Johnson co-chairman; co-chairman; and a bazaar to be held November 10 and 11 with Mrs. Les Graves chairman chair-man and Mrs. Ray Tibbetts co-chairman. Other committee commit-tee heads are: Mrs. John Sparks, Arts and Crafts, Mrs. Hal Johnson Foods. Mrs. Ralph Miller, Jr. Candy Mrs. Fred Stoye, Publicity, Mrs. Gale Tibbetts, sewing. Devotionals were given by Mrs. Jack Riley, who chose "The Resurrection", a poem by Frederick W. Neve in essence that Christ has made Death into the door that leads to Life above this world of sin and strife. The next regular meeting of St. Clare's Guild will be at St. Francis' Episcopal Church at 8:00 on April 25. |
