Show rWENTY RACES AT AUTOMOBILE MEET NEW YORK, Jan. 15. Racing talk, b anticipation of the automobile speed rials to take place at Ormond Beach, fl.. practically all next week, was rife It the show in Madison Square Garden pst night, and especially after W. F. Uorfr&n, manager of the coming meet, Innounced the entries. Twenty races ave been arranged for and American ars will predominate. There will be ively competition In the touring car Masses, beyond doubt. Only two large foreign automobiles rill compete. These will be the 100-orse-power French machine that won he Vanderbilt cup last year, and the ighty-horse-power Frencli car that won he cup in 1905. Wagner, the winner f the race last year, will again drive he former, while B. Steven?, owner of he latter, will probably act a his own thauffeur. Neither of these two car will com-ite com-ite for the two-mile-a-minute speed rown honors. The only entries of that aee are a small 500-pound eight cylin-er cylin-er car and a new steamer which was milt for competition in the Vanderbilt lup race. The 200-mile race has three Intries, a French car and two American nes. |
