Show UTES WOULD GO TO CHEYENNE RESERVE WASHINGTON, D. C. Jan. 15. Representative Rep-resentative chiefs of the Ute Indians who left their reservation in Utah last spring had a powwow with President Roosevelt today and told him ' their grievances. Their allotments of land on the Uintah reservation, thej said, are too small, and the result is that thev are surrounded on all sides by white settlers, giving them none of the freedom tbey have been accustomed to. They begged permission to transfer their residence to the Cheyenne reservation reser-vation of the Sioux Indians. The President did not make any promises, but said that he would give them an answer later on. |
