Show CUTLER VETOES THREE HEASURES Bill Relating to Instruction to Juries Meets Displeasure Displeas-ure of Executive; OfiV I ; cials Salary Bill Vetoed, j Three vetoes were attached to bills this morning by Gov. Cutler. Be put , his stamp of disfavor upon Senate bill 17, which relates to requested Instructions Instruc-tions to Juries. Relative to the bill he j declares that he cannot see -where the amendment to the law Is an Improvement, Improve-ment, -while It involves unnecessary labor. la-bor. He declared that House bill 82, relating relat-ing to the manner of fixing the salaries of deputy county officers, would permit the deputy Connty Assessor and Treasurer Treas-urer to receive exorbitant salaries, a part to be given by the State, and by an agreement with, the deputy the Assessor As-sessor or Treasurer, the deputy could do all the work. The other veto was of Senate bill 152, which extended the scope of the livery stable keeper's lien, as it does not state any definite period for which a lien may be made. With this open the Governor declares that any amount of lien might be charged for an animal after it leaves the possession of the owner, despite the fact that it might have changed hands a number of times. - The following bills were approved by the Governor and filed with the Secretary Secre-tary of State: ' ' , a. B. 82, relating to the use of voting machines. 8. B. 130, relating to powers of the Supreme eourt. , H. B. 300, relating to appeals from the Justice courts. S. B. 188, relating to the eonrses of instruction at the University of Utah. H. B. 299. established a State Board of Sheep commissioners. 8.
