PHONE COMPANY NEEDS MORE ROOM I After being unoccupied Jar nearly six years, the old Independent Telephone Tele-phone building at 117 rtouth Utate street wilt be put In use immediately to house part of the general officea of the local company, according to announcement an-nouncement yesterday of A. H. Denlke, division general manager of the company. Work or renovating ann remooemig the building will begin next week, according ac-cording to Mr. Denike. It Is proposed to transfer the' auditing department, the engineering department and aeveral aev-eral of the division offices to the new building. Large assembly quarters for use by the Telephone society are also Included In the remodeling plans.
