Show HELP FOR BLIND DRIVE DEFENDED Mrs. Elizabeth McLaughlin, jpon-aorinff jpon-aorinff a Utah fund drive for the American Brotherhood for the Blind. Monday struck back at accusations ac-cusations against her organization by local blind. She asserted that "our money la distributed throughout all the , states, in reply to accusations from j Murray B. Allen, executive secretary secre-tary of the Utah commission for the ! blind, who said Utah's blind would 'receive no benefits from the flower drive fund. Mr. Allen's warning resulted re-sulted in a Midvale flower aale being be-ing stopped by the city marshal. Mr. Alien said that when Mrs. McLaughlin visited him prior to the fund drive "she was very evasive 'about the entire matter and indicated indi-cated she had done no work in Utah and only planned to stop at Cedar City on her way out of the state." Sales have already'been conducted in Tooele, Murray and Bingham, It was reported, and other communities communi-ties were on the schedule this week. Mrs. McLaughlin said she had letters of recommendation from Governor Henry H. Blood. Charles H. Skidmore. state superintendent of public instruction; Heber J. Grant, president of the L D. 8. church, and other prominent state, city and church officials. |
